Lighting Campus for Hope In December, we welcomed our community to Lighting Campus for Hope, an event our honoring cancer warriors, and concluded the university’s 10-year anniversary celebration. Lone Star Title was the presenting sponsor for the free event, which included a fireworks extravaganza, food trucks, photos with Santa and friends, a mascot dance-off and more. Wells Fargo Bank sponsored the dazzling, musical Hope Light Show. The occasion also celebrated the raising of $67,750 to provide 366 free breast cancer screenings for underserved women within our community. Short Film Celebrates Health Care Dreams Students, alumni, faculty and supporters gathered on campus last year for a red-carpet screening of “Frontera Dreams: Improving Lives, Empowering Generations.” The short film follows the 10-year journey of four Texas Tech Health El Paso students from our Borderplex as they go from grade school to graduation in the fields of medicine, nursing, research and dentistry. It begins with career day, a rite of passage for many grade schoolers, where each shares their aspirations with their teachers and classmates of becoming the next generation of health care providers.
